Tiffany took a leap of faith joining Junction Fitness in an effort to improve her health, but what she found was much more rewarding than she ever imagined. We asked her to share a little about her experience in the blog below!
When and why did you join Junction Fitness?
I joined Junction Fitness in June 2020. At the time I had no idea what CrossFit was about and how big of a community it was. I took a bold move and decided to step outside of my comfort zone only after just telling myself I needed to be more in shape before taking on CrossFit. I was definitely wanting to try a different form of physical activity.
What is your favorite thing about Junction Fitness?
There are NO shamers, only highly motivated and encouraging coaches and awesome members to work out alongside with.
From JF: We love to hear that Tiffany feels this way. One of our top priorities is to make our space open and inviting to all. You should never feel ashamed going to the gym. We want to make sure we are encouraging and supporting you at every step of your fitness journey.
What has been your experience with the new X4 class so far?
AMAZING!!!! This class has turned up my fitness progress in a great way. Seeing more calories burned in a 50-minute sweat session is so rewarding.
Why did you decide to transfer your membership to a Dual Membership?
I love the overall benefits that CrossFit and X4 bring to my fitness lifestyle. It's the best of both worlds! Both fitness programs offer a great balance of weights, cardio and overall mobility.
From JF: Dual Membership is a great opportunity to do just what Tiffany said. You’re given the option to balance your workouts how you like. Want a more cardio-heavy session? Do an X4 class! Want more weight lifting today? Jump into some CrossFit. Your fitness journey is totally up to you through this membership.
How has your life been impacted since joining Junction Fitness?
My life has been impacted in such a positive way by being a part of Junction Fitness. I feel like I have gained a built-in desire to constantly show up and see what my mind and body are capable of.
What goals have you achieved since becoming a part of the community at Junction Fitness?
I have accomplished and attempted multiple skills, and movements I never would have on my own. It's only helped me realize even more how awesome our bodies are. I have lost 49 lbs and gone down two pant sizes.
From JF: Whether your goal is to lose weight, gain muscle or just engage in a healthier lifestyle, Junction Fitness can help you with that goal. We’re so glad Tiffany has accomplished her goals and is building more along the way.
What class do you typically go to / do you stick to a routine? If you go to a specific class each day, what do you like about it? Why do you consistently go to that?
I typically go five days a week. I alternate each week with X4 three days and CrossFit two days and then swap the next week with X4 two days and CrossFit three days. I have so much still to accomplish and I feel it's important for me to stay consistent with five days a week, schedule permitting. I work out in the morning at the 8:30 class to start my day off right! It fuels my day and supplies me with great energy.
How have the people at Junction Fitness helped motivate/encourage you?
They show up always with the best attitudes and ready to instruct each class with great energy. They don't let you slack! They know your potential and do a great job pushing you through your workout to make sure you are getting the best benefits from it as possible.
From JF: One of our mottos is to “travel with the pack.” Tiffany has embraced the pack of Junction Fitness and that is exactly what we want for all of our members. We’re committed to making you feel cared for, valued and supported.
What has been the hardest part of Junction Fitness? The most surprising?
The only things that have been hard for me are some of the movements, but I keep at them and I am excited to eventually conquer those movements. The most surprising is learning the certain amount of weights I can move around, never underestimate your body.
What advice would you give to people trying to get in a steady routine and maintain a healthy lifestyle?
Just start! There is never going to be a perfect schedule or setup. Things might not always go as planned, but you just adjust and keep showing up! Make it something you value enough to make it fit into your lifestyle.
What are you most proud of after this experience? What does living a healthier lifestyle mean to you?
I am proud of myself for showing up and staying consistent. Living a healthier lifestyle for me is feeling my best physically and mentally every day. I know I am making conscious decisions that will affect my body in a positive and healthy way.
Why do you think it is important to share your story with others in the Junction Fitness community?
If my journey and story to a healthier lifestyle can encourage someone to make a change for themselves and step outside their comfort zone then that is an accomplishment in itself. I want people to know that it is possible and very rewarding.
